Itchy and Scratches story

Cavy Angel's Guinea Pig Rescue reserved a phone call late July of 2010 from a lady wishing to surrender her two male guinea pigs.
The next Sunday she brought the guinea pig to the shelter. She came at a very hectic time we had only just got a critical surrender from another lady and I was paying most of my attention to them.
Because Itchy and Scratchy where not in a life or death situation and the other surrendered guinea pigs where sadly for a short period of time Itch and Scratchy case was poshed to one side.
I did get to speak with the owners for a few minutes though. Basically the reason they wanted to surrender was because they had only just spent a large sum of money on vet bills for their rabbit and could not afford to keep the two guinea pigs.
Although the Boys where not in a life or death situation they where very ill all the same. They had a bad case of Mange as well as having a bad case of fungal. The boys have been in my care for some time now and have almost made a full recovery.
They should be going up for adoption with in the next few week.
